Privacy Policy for Data Transporter
Last updated: 2026-02-24
Limited Use Disclosure
Data Transporter's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- No External Storage: User data is never transferred to external servers.
- No Tracking: This add-on does not use any third-party analytics or tracking services.
- No Advertising: User data is not used for serving advertisements.
- No AI Training: User data is not used for training machine learning or AI models.
- No Selling: User data is never sold to third parties.
Required Permissions (Scopes)
To provide its core features, this add-on requires the following Restricted Scopes permissions:
- Google Sheets™: To read source data and write it to your destination sheets as requested by you.
- Google Drive™: To list available files and folders so you can select your transfer targets.
Data Protection Mechanisms
All data processing happens within your Google account. This means we automatically use the following protections:
- Encryption at Rest: Any persistent data, including your transfer configurations and temporary metadata, is stored within your Google Drive environment using 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES-256) or better, provided by the Google Cloud infrastructure.
- Encryption in Transit: All data handled by the add-on is encrypted using Google’s industry-standard SSL/TLS protocols.
- Memory-Only Processing: Sensitive spreadsheet content is processed in volatile execution memory (RAM) and is never written to persistent logs or external storage during the transformation process.
- Direct Execution: Data processing is executed locally via Google Apps Script. Your spreadsheet content is never transmitted to the developer or any external third party.
- Authentication: Access is managed via OAuth 2.0. We only request the minimum scopes necessary. Our "Zero-Knowledge" architecture ensures that the developer never has access to your decryption keys or raw data.
- No Human Access: No person (including the developer) has the ability to read or access your spreadsheet data.
Information Storage
The add-on only stores functional settings within your own environment:
- Transfer Configurations: Your settings (mappings/rules) are stored in your own Google Drive™ in a folder you control ("DataTransporter_User_Configs"). We do not have access to this folder.
Data Retention
We do not retain any of your spreadsheet data or personal information. Spreadsheet content is processed in volatile memory during the transfer execution and is not persisted. Your functional configurations are retained in your Google Drive™ only for as long as you choose to keep them; we do not maintain backups or copies of these files on any external systems.
Data Deletion & User Rights
You have full control over your data. Because we do not store your information on external servers, you can perform a complete data deletion yourself at any time:
- Configuration Deletion: To delete all saved transfer rules and settings, simply delete the folder named "DataTransporter_User_Configs" from your Google Drive™.
- Access Revocation: You can revoke the add-on's access to your account by uninstalling it from the Google Workspace™ Marketplace or by visiting your Google Account Security settings.
- Data Portability: Since your configurations are stored as files in your own Google Drive™, you maintain constant possession and portability of your data.
Updates to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in Google’s requirements. We will notify users of material changes via this page and through a notice in the add-on interface.
